SK Energy is preparing for a great leap forward under the vision that by 2015 it becomes one of the top three major regional players.

To realize such vision, SK Energy will enhance competitiveness of the existing core businesses through optimalization of the system operation, advancement into the PE and PP processing business, and risk management. We will continue to create value by improving the business structure, strengthen R&D capacity to obtain our future growth engine, and constantly tap into new markets. We are the first company in the nation and the third company in the world which independently developed the separator, a key material for lithium-ion batteries. By 2006, the commercial production of our separator is expected. Also, we will advance into the Fine & Specialty chemical business.

We, SK Energy, plan to make inroads into markets with high growth potential including China, India, and the Middle East. We already established, in China, the Hangju Notran Plant, Kwangdong Special Polymer Plant, Shanghai Sales Office, and by 2006 the construction of the Solvent JV Plant will be completed. Strengthening our presence in the global markets and increasing our trading with foreign countries, we will continue to expand the proportion of overseas sales.
